Cocktail: The Godfather
I'm a big fan of simple, tasty cocktails that have few ingredients and are easy to make. I'm also a big fan of bourbons and whiskies so this little mix fits the bill.
Ingredients:
- Bourbon (Wild Turkey works great)
- Amaretto (Name brand Disaronno)
- One large ice cube or sphere
- Orange peel
Mix a measure each of bourbon and amaretto. I find slightly less amaretto tastes best to me, but adjust the relative quantites to your own taste. Pour into a standard tumbler over a single large ice cube. Slice a thin section of peel about 50mm long and 20mm wide from the orange being careful not to cut too deep into the pithy part. Over the glass, skin down, fold this in half lengthways. This will express the citris oils onto the top of the liquid. Next, rub the peel on the inside lip of the tumbler to coat it with soem of the orange oils too. Finally, drop the folded peel into teh glass, stil a little, and serve.
